Default 7MGE wiring - unknown 4-pin plug near ignitor/diag point

    hi folks,

am just hooking up various bits in the white whale (MZ10) and I have a mystery plug on the engine loom.

    (sorry no pic)

There's a large bundle that leaves the front of the intake manifold and goes over to the passenger side of the engine bay - and it connects to the ignitor/coil, resisitor pack and diagnosis port.

In that bundle is a square, pale orange 4-pin plug with 4 wires hooked up to the engine loom:
    1- Black / red-stripe
2- White / black stripe / brown dot
    3- Black / orange stripe
4- Black / yellow stripe / brown dot

    I think 1 & 2 go to a noise suppressor cap - but i'm not sure what 3 & 4 connect to and whether 1 & 2 also connect to other things.

Do they provide signals to something, or does stuff (e.g. Ign power, other) feed to the engine loom at that point?

I'm off to look at the Surpa TSRM while i make it look like i'm working at awork, but hints/help most welcome.

I think the engine came out of a MX83 - Wilbo might know?

    tia,
    Charles

If it's the same as a GTE loom that'll be for the ECU relay

thanks - looks like going to the main EFI relay.

Wilbo advises that motor is ex-MA70 7MGE.

Has anyone in BNE got a MA70 with 7MGE that i could come and take a look at?

    Meh,

Trace it back from the ECU pinouts with a multimeter if in doubt...

    And yeah ex MA70.

Can I assume that you have got all the non-ecu wiring sorted now? i.e. indicators work, lights (low and high beam), brake lights, parkers, wipers, etc...if not do that ya goose!

    Cheers

matt: i figured that was what you meant.

Wilbo: many small small steps one at a time...
(and it was raining last night so i didn't start work until about 9:30-ish)

interior realy/fuse panel yet to be positioned but i found my 8 way panel.

All the front lights now loomed up to the cabin (and checked if working)

wipers unentangled and ready to test (wiper switch appears to be same as MA70 but control box & motor much like MA61).

alt also connected back to cabin - just need to lean on some telstra dude for some 100 amp cable to go from Alt B+ to the starter

next is the relay panel and decode the lights switch/stalk pinout and Ign key pinout.

meh ... only ECU thing was the mystery 4pin plug in the engine bay

    - it'll use spares in the mini loom connected to the alternator (which isn't an ECU thing)
