    Default Hyundai coils

    Hello,

I am chasing up suitable ignition coils for use with an Autronic SM4/4age 20V/ direct fire wasted spark .

I have obtained a set of 1998 Hyundai coils but they do not appear to have ignitors built in as some Daewoo coils do .

Can you please help with some suggestions re setting this up. What options do i have?

    cheers peter

I think you'll find Daewoo coils are run on the Delco ECU, and thus I don't think they are very compatible with the Autronic unless you run the Delco crank trigger disc.

Just run some Bosch 008 Ignitors.

008 ignitors are your friend. Go and rabbit them from early (i.e. pre Delco) Camira's at your local junkyard.

    Thanks guys for the info,

i do not seem to be able to get hold of the bosch igniters. all the camrys seem to have them ratted.

Can i used the ones from an SV21. These are labelled toyota igniter assembly and are approx 2" x 3" enclosed in a aluminium box.

    Camira, not Camry.

And be careful with 2nd hand.
Camira ignition modules are over 20 years old now.
I used a pair of 2nd hand ones. Within 6 months one died. So instead of forking out $180ish for new Bosch ones, I bought Bosch copies for $100

You'll have to get in contact with Autronic over which ignitors their software is compatible with.

And yes, Camira ones are hard to find. I think I went to 6 wreckers, 3 of which were dedicated Holden ones, before I found 2 ignitors.
