does a 4agz ecu fit a 4agze engine?

hi all does a 4agz ecu run a 4agze engine if so im gonna be more then pissed off

There is no such thing as a 4AGZ.

Most (All?) Toyota ECU's leave the "E" off of the end, due to the fact the the "E" means it's EFI. If it's not EFI, it won't have an ECU anyway, so there is no point in printing it on the ECU.

wtf? if you are refering to a 4agE ecu running a GZE then no its not going to work well,

or are you refering to the little sticker ontop of the ecu casewhich doesnt have the E on the end, in which case yes it will

hahahaha wow im a lil annoyed now i had a friend look at the car and he said the ecu that was supplied with my car when i bout it wouldnt fit and yes the sticker on it says 4agz so i just assumed he was right and for 9 months i have been trying to find another one or save up to by a microtech lol so thanks for the info muchly appreciated

u need to sack your friend as a friend.

and if its your friend............. then you have just saved money for the turbo upgrade.

NB, your friend may still be right. There are several versions of 4AGZE and the ECU you have may not suit the engine and loom you have. Maybe the difference is as simple as a slightly different pin layout. But have a look into it by searching for part numbers and so on.

Though it could well be that your friend is a nong.

oh no the pins all fit and wat not i had a look myself yesterday but he seems to think that the loom doesnt fit across the engine properly would really appreciate some help with this or if someone could even come and have a look for me as i have no friging clue :S

well does it start and run?? if everything is connected up correctly and the ECU is good, the engine should run.. what problems are you having and why do you wanna go Microtech?

If you live southside of Brisbane and get stuck, you're more than welcome to check out my AE101 GZE to see what the go is.

If the ECU fits, and the car starts, it should be fine. The ECU's for the AFM and MAP 4AGZE engines have different plug sizes, so you can't get them mixed up.

Well get some of the wires cranking and starting doing some skids. on a track of corse

i learned the hard way, just get the GZE working with the stock ECU.. if it's not the right one, source the right one and plug it in, it's a lot less hassle than getting an aftermarket unit, plugging it in, and tuning it... and definitely not worth it if the engine is stock and there's no reason to go full aftermarket..

ebony, it shouldn't be that hard. i still dont know why you bought it without an ecu though
