Bride and Recaro JZX81 rails have the belt buckle mounted to a bracket welded to the rail
Hey guys, I just picked myself up some new seats for the soarer. Only issue I'm going to have is that as I currently have the electric seats, the rails, mounts and seat belt buckle mounts are integral to the substrate of the seat so I can't just chop them off, plus I'm looking at selling them anyway.
I got some rails thrown in with the deal, so the are now movable. One of my mates is a welder/fabricator so making the brackets to bolt them to the floor should prove no worries. This just leaves me with where to mount the belt buckle? I am thinking of having a bracket made up for it to bolt to and welding the bracket to the rails, that sound ok? I'm open to suggestions if anyone else has done something similar!
Cheers

If you are trying to remain legal, talk to a Certifying Engineer or someone like DC Willshire who sell and fit seats for legalities involved as a lot of frames and seatbelt mounts are not legal or safe (chinese made crap in particular). Could asve you some money and a defect.
Cheers guys.
The bloke doing the welding for me is a qualified welder/fabricator and his boss is a mechanical engineer, so all is good on that front, just wanted to know if I was barking up the right tree or not.
Wilshire? lol!!! Went there to get a quote about 18 months ago and they wanted $430 PER SEAT installation, and that was with me supplying already ADR approved seats and rail, that was just to bolt them in, no welding included in that!
just buy new belts and buckles, i just bought some and it was $70 a side,
I AM THE STIG.
Just be careful my bargin SAAS GT's from Autobarn Morayfield ended up costing me thousand once fitted. They had ADR but the installation, mod plate, new belts etc was a rip off. My wife is still carrying on about it. They look good but I'm to scared to say how much it cost me. Thanks KCF, I'm still eating bread and water and doing overtime. They will still have to be removed as my head hits the roof with the rails installed.
