Default Wiring a Miccon Turbo Timer and Reset Computer

Hey I have just installed a Miccon Turbo Timer into a Turbo Diesel Prado 2007 model. It works ok. During installation I disconnected the battery. Now getting warning lights staying on - on the dash and lost control of power windows, from drivers seat.
I believe it might be that the ECU may need resetting. Anyone know how this is done??

hehe yeah there are a few cars out now that must not have the battery disconnected (good on you for doing so though, safety first after all).

You need to take it into a dealer and they will reset it for you. It's gone into "limp mode".

If your lucky the dealer will be nice and do it for free there and then, otherwise it'll be a "book it in job, and we'll charge you for it".

You can try to argue with them about it but they will more than likely point to the owners manual where it states about not disconnecting the battery!

Plus... you wont be able to have it done under warranty as you've just fitted a turbo timer to it, which you will also find voids the manufacturers warranty (i hope you explained that to the customer... unless this is your own car).

Not trying to sound rude... just that i've seen alot of cases like this. I'll always ask my customer what car it's going into if i'm not going to be fitting it, and explain everything they need to know!

i noticed with a fully auto turbo timer into a diesel turbo toyota engine, the timer will pick up when the car is used... but say when cruising, on a normal petrol engine, the timer will advance i.e. have more time on it... but with the diesel engine, during cruising, the timer will go up then come back down to zero... why is that?? then when accelerating again, it'll get up to about a minute to 1.5 mins.. then slowly come back to zero again..

They should have a dial type adjustment somewhere on them (either accessible through the back, or internally). You'll need to have a play with it... i'm not 100% if you can correct it though as with diesels i've always set it to a set time. But with Subaru's and VWs and a few other cars you need to adjust the 'gain' on the timer.

What brand turbo timer is it? Because some have other settings on them as well.

    Hi to everyone.
I finally got the answer by reading the www.newhilux.com.au some of the guys their with the same engine (4D4) had similar problems and using "Tunnel Rats" advice helped me solve the issue of the engine management light staying on while the engine is running, after fitting a Miccon Turbo timer purchased off ebay. (many thanks to him). I hope the following helps. You might like to add to this table with your vehicles wiring colours and post it to help others.
