I am fitting an ST215 engine to my Corolla, and am using an Adaptronic standalone ECU.
Personally I wouldn't mess about with a piggyback ECU unless I could get it for free/extremely cheap.

Who has an automatic performance car?
I don't know that many (any?) aftermarket ECUs will work with an auto, although with the number of aux inputs/outputs on a lot of the ECUs you could probably set it up if you were handy.

Yeah I know. All my cars have been been manuals with 300-400whp until now when I had to buy something that my wife can drive(auto only) would fit a child seat in it and would be safe and fun for me to drive every day. And the Caldina fits the bill. Thats why I thought piggy back ems's would be an affordable option for the minor gains I'm chasing. As they cost hundreds instead of thousands like stand alone's. But I'll keep researching and let you know what I find.
Cheers.
CNJ motorsport tune my mates 3SGTE, with a motec though..
i think one of the best adaptronic tuners for boosted stuff would be matty spry down the coast![]()
your best option would be an actual performance mod like an exhaust, a front mount cooler or water-to-air cooler, etc... and then later look at an ecu & boost levels.
does matt spry do adaptronic (you don't mean autronic do you)? furk yeah my car is so going there.. he is dear as shit but i've rarely heard a bad word
