    Default do i need castor rods to move my car?

    hey guys,

    due to me moving house again i need to move the celica again.

    do i need to fit my castor rods to move my car?
    it will only be going on and off the trailer via winch.

    mostly interested in willl my wheels hit my guards if i dont fit them?

    More than likely the wheels will move backwards and rub the inner guard.If your only winching it on and off just put them in loosely, they dont need to done up properly.

    Any back & forth will give some in or out toe, so depending on how loose it is (sway/roll bar hooked up?), it may not roll too well and bumps will really change where that wheel should be pointing to.
    They're stout because a lot of force goes through them.

    You're just winching it onto a trailer? It will be fine, if your control arm bushes aren't flogged out they won't allow much fore/aft movement.

    You will be relying on the the crush tube if you dont fit the castor rod (not bushes).

    a few things there i hadnt thought of......

    i will put them in - just being lazy seeing as i have so many other things to do (like packing up the shed and house)

    thanks mate, thats a very generous offer..... i would just have to be sure i had my 1j bolted in extra tight lol!!!!!

    actually i was goin to start painting the house this weekend, but have now employed someone to do that for me. so hopefully will be starting to move the shed - the house can wait.
