    Default R154 to 1GGTE

    Hi all,

Does anyone know where I can get a bell housing or conversion plate? Want to stay with the W57-58 clutch set up. Have tried Dello and there not interested.

Also need a tail shaft yoke for the R154.

    Sick of blowing W57-58 boxes.

    Thanks
    Ron

Castlemaine rod shop seem to do a few bellhousing adaptors not sure if youll have any luck with that combo though, worth a try.

theres a list but they say at the bottom to enquire about unlisted combos..

Not you too... Everyone wants me to go auto but not while its still a street car. I know it would be a second quicker but they suck for what I do.
Also I can get them cheaper than that from memory.

But get an R154 to JZ bellhousing, and make up an adaptor plate.

Well you show me 1 thing in that old thread that was relavent to my question! I didn't ask for comments on my driving style, which none of them would even know anyway. Nor did I ask for or give any information on who has more torque. So there is nothing in that old thread that applies and honestly I had forgotten about it.
I already knew there wasn't an off the shelf item but I have been told about 2 cars that have had them behind 1g's. So they must have gotten them somewhere.

160TU how big is your budget for custom bellhousing?

becuase there is someone in adelaide who is currently working with the T56 box found in LS1 commonwhores and for around $3K he can do a whole custom bellhousin setup...it aint cheap...especially when that doesnt include clutch...

I have looked in gear sets before and have emailed 2 more places today but when your looking at around 6k its cheeper to do the R154.

Have emailed the rod shop for a price on a custom bell housing, so i'll see what they say but i will keep the t56 in mind.

Its mainly the input shaft that i destroy the teeth on, so if i could find a stronger 1 it may fix the problem.

Yeah done that and they got back to me just before but that's out of the question.

A 1-4 Helical dog gearset is $6710+gst, and a full 5spd Helical dog gearset is $8250+gst. Freight to Brisbane would be around $100.

I did find another place in Melbourne that does gear sets and waiting to see what they charge.

yeah...their boxes are mega expensive...thats the problem

and youre probably more likely to break a dog W58 than a T56...
