It should really just be toymods WA
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I know this isnt the thread for this topic but Damo wat did u decide in the end of wat the club should be, Cuz there seems to be some confusion out there.first the email list was "Old School Toyota's" then it was changed to "Old School Toys" to allow accomodation for other makes and now that theres a dominating Toyota force its gone back to being pushed as a toyota group of prodominently (from what i can observe) '90s cars haha i just find it odd
I think we should keep it a toyota only group but If there is always going to be people bringing post 90's cars to events why dont we make it " OST toyota car club" Or sumthing like that. So we keep OST to have a bit of club history, but it ends the confusion. cuz in the end everyone calls it OST anyway![]()

A70's were made from 86 to 92, that puts the majority of them in the "pre 90 catagory" so i think they qualify.Originally Posted by Adsport

granted, the names getting a bit silly, not really meaning anything at all, but meh, its been argued to death, no need to bring it up again, nothings going to change.
I think that there should BE a Toymods WA club/derivative, however I don't think OST should just default to that.
I like the concept of concentrating on the older stuff - the 180sx was never intended to be part of the club and up and till about a month ago I still had the Starlet. I'm still active in the club despite not having an oldskool toyota at this point because A) I am working on that as mentioned and B) I've been with the club for long enough that I reckon I deserve a bit of slack in that regard, and I share a common interest with the other members. Plus I put on good BBQs
I'd like OST to concentrate on pre-1990s Japanese cars, I'm not sure if it's fair to alienate those who drive Datsuns or older Mitsubishis etc because they're like minded people, and it's basically that or hook up with one-model clubs who don't do a lot other than a monthly email newsletter etc. I personally have no problem if someone wants to bring along a 240z or Starion or Cordia as long as they share the same ideas and values as we do.
Ultimately the call goes to the committee, I just thought I'd share my 2 cents.

For the record... mines 1993 and as the ST184 Celica started in 1989 thats why I'm included even if it is highly modified and runs a 99 jap motor... you could also buy a 98/99 SW20 and still be classified as a OST member due to the fact the SW20 were first released in 1989 so really there is plenty of flexiblity for the current OST rules so I say keep it as is and keep it Toyota based. If non-toyotas want to come along thats cool but they're not considered 'official' club cars or anything! Thats my bob!![]()
OK BBQ TIME...
A longer cruise somewhere like last years would be good, not the same place of course. Maybe one of the national parks around Perth or a nice large park at a beach along the coast north or south theres plenty to choose from.

Why can't we all just get along...?!
But for the record.. my comments would pretty much roll the same as Sam
if you want a Toymods club with Aristo's and JZA80's and Camry Sportivo's.. by all means, start an Official Toymods WA car club...Originally Posted by Ironwanker

ps. I do value everyone's input with the club tho.. don't get me wrong... its good to see so many people involved and interested in the future of the club.![]()
Now can someone throw up some suggestions on BBQ locations for our crew??
