with the lack of a timing chain its valve train noise, either no oil up there, or somethings not moving properly/out of adjustment. id check your clearances and oil flow and make sure oil is getting around everywhere.

yeh i noticed that, toyota want 15 bucks a shim. And 12 is my mates price...thats shocking.
apparently coventries can get em at 1.10 a shim but dont keep em in stock. &$#@ !!!!

they are like Repco but specialize more in spare parts than retail but they are just gettin into retail crap (i work for Repco). Coventrys said they could get me in Crow Cam shims for (like ez said) $1.10 each plus the 15 bucks for postage so im thinking i might just go with them and just replace all the bloody things
