update for anyone who cares. Fuel pump wasn't wired right. WOlf and Microtech wire it up differently. Rewired that and started but this time wasn't running very smoothly at all. I think I will swap the crank sensor wires around and see how that goes and then the cam sensors. I have it wired up the opposite of how the diagram says at the moment.

Interestingly, if the fuel pump relay wire isn't plugged in to the relay, then the whole ecu doesn't get any power. Was going to run 12v to the pump and crank it over but it is impossible.

I just downloaded the wiring diagrams, and as I suspected, the 2 ecu's wire the fuel pump identically.

30 is the supply from the battery
85 is the earth trigger from the ecu
86 is the +12v side of the trigger
87 is the output to the fuel pump

    Once again, incorrect.
You must have wired it incorrectly.
You can remove the fuel pump relay (or the wire) and the ecu will start up.
Obviously the fuel pump wont run, so the motor won't start, but you will be able to power up the ecu to program it etc.

Unless I'm misreading what you've said.

I can't remember what numbers were what on the relay for the wolf but there was 2 constant 12v wires, signal wire from the wolf and output to the fuel pump.

I had to change the wires around to different pins and now have a 12v constant, ignition switched 12v power from microtech, signal wire from microtech and output to the fuel pump.

I have no idea why the ecu didn't get power when the fuel pump relay wasn't connected but it definitely didn't! It had all its regular power with the large black and red wires. (red going through ignition switched relay) and it didn't turn on until I plugged the fuel pump relay back in? Doesn't really worry me anyway, as I plan on doing most of my driving with the fuel pump on
