    Default 1jz cressida wiring

Hi i'm in the process of putting a 1jz into my cressida from a jzx90 auto. there is 2 main wiring problems i have which i can't quite figure out yet, first is the auto gear lights on the dash and reverse lights, i don't care so much for the lights in the dash that show you what gear you're in, but i was just curious if they should work? and to get reverse lights work can you normally use the plug white plug on the passengers side (sorry can't remember think its 24pin) that goes to the dash lights etc.

The other issue i currently have is the starter, i can get it to turn over but it doesn't cut it if its in a gear i thought by default it would be cut and only if in P or N will it turn? this isn't a huge concern but i would like to not be dodgy with the wires and use all the orignal relays

i can get photos of the plugs when i get home if you dont' know what plugs i mean, i think it will start as things are now, although the fuel pump isn't run from the computer yet, though i read somewhere the D1 pin from one of the ecu plugs is for the relay if you remove the resistor. have to try that when i get home. Ecu check light and oil light all work, i think temp and speed should work, have to test once i finish the intercooler piping. and the hydro fan might be an issue have to see, noone seemed to indicate the hydro fan was to hard to get going.

well any info about the wiring from the auto would be great otherwise i'll update as i get it close to finished

    Wink Re: 1jz cressida wiring

Alright i've got it running seems to run well and start straight away, got the starter motor turning only when in park or neutral like it should be. Intercooler is all hooked up.

One thing i am still have issues with is the gear position sensing, can't get reverse lights working. I've know what wire on the passengers side needs 12v to get reverse lights and the dash indicator however i don't see how to get 12v from the chaser box? I've tried mapping all the wires from the dash gear indicators to the plug near the ecu and they were easy enough to find but they don't seem to have any output at all whether in gear or not.

these are the plugs that both the cressy and the chaser use to indicate gear position, i've used the other half of the plug from each car to make and adapter so i don't have to modify the orginal loom here.

i was guessing there should be an input wire (12v) that will connect to the current gear output signal wire when in gear but i have not been able to find it yet

only other issue at the moment is i still can't seem to get the fuel pump to run off the ecu, if i ground one of the original cressida wires thats in the plug above the ecu it will run the fuel pump whenever ign is on. this is the plug i was told should do it,

FPC control the resistor which i have removed and shorted the wires and DI was the main control for fuel pump relay, but there seems to be no output from these either.

Any help with the auto gear position sensing or the fuel would be great thanks,

Here is a pic of my car currently
