hi folks,
am slowly getting the white MZ10 barge ready for use ... and i have a question about the level of trim required for road registration (Qld).
I've got the dash back in (some bits will be missing and covered up ... but there's a few things i have questions about.
1. door trim: would a flat panel (either aluminium or card) covered with vinyl be OK? or are the door handles manditory? I have a spare set of doors complete with trim but would rather not fit them just yet.
2. rear section: there's no seat so the back section is just being covered with a flat sheet , but the side sections between the door frame and the rear wheel arches - does it need covering with anything or can it remain open?
3. roof lining: is it required at all?
4. Sun visors: are these required for registration?
car will be for sprints, motorkhana and autokhana but road registration makes it simpler to get to/from events. No cage as yet but if finances allow it, i'll put one in. The electric windows are still in place but controlled from a centre console panel so the only internal door protusions are the handle and locking arm(s).
tia,
Charles.

thank!
yes - will be mod-plated as a 2-seater - hopefully with fixed bucket seats (have drivers' seat, need another for navigator).
We have different registration available in Tas for just for your purpose. Maybe worth looking into to see if they have the same deal in your home state.
It is called Special Interest Rego. Costs about half as much as full rego.
Car doesn't even need a compliance plate, Just has to be roadworthy.
Only aloud to drive to and from events, To and from workshop, Testing is aloud within 10 k's from home.

it would be nice ..but no go up here.
Qld has Concessional (classic) rego - but car has to be >30 years old, complianced, and owned by a club member, plus it has the usual limited use provisions.
Qld's Competition rego allows things like non-complianced ST205 rally cars to drive on the road for events and tune/testing - but it's nearly the same price as normal rego.
Easier to get normal rego and put up with the occaisional inspection by a bored transport cop.
