    Default AE86 suspension into a TA23

was having a discussion with a mate last night. he was telling me if he adjusted his cross member in his KE20 'rolla, he could get all of the AE86 suspension to fit. he then continued to tell me that, in his belief, that these same AE86 parts would fit into my TA23 without any modification??.is this ture?? figured you lot were the best people to ask.

    cheers

Yes it would "Bolt in" but the suspension geometry would be out of wack.

You would probably need to adjust the mount points on the crossmember or use different LCA's, iirc engineers don't like crossmembers being modified. Then the steering rack and steering arms wuold need to be customised or more suitable ones found.

are you talking about the suspension ie struts, steering arms and LCAs, or the whole front end ie xmember+rack and all the suspensoin bolted to it.

    struts wont change anything.

steering arms may change the steering geometry and lock slightly.

LCAs are identical apart from the stopper for the steering arm.

xmember and rack will go in with mods but its fairly time consuming to set it up correctly.

i finally drove the 23 i did this to last night and it feels reasonably good but ill have to get more feedback from the owner.
