5mge-1uzfe alternator wiring

Kay theres four wires coming from the 5mge alt wire and 3 coming from the 1uz alt,

What are the wires and how will i know what is what, no colours match up

Hey there mate....

what exactly are you trying to do?

by the sounds of it, the 5mge is a Externaly regulated alternator cause of the 4 wires... what does the plug look like?

the 1uz alternator is internaly regulated, the plug is eaither a round or oval plug....
the 3 wires for that are, signal (+ battery) ignition (12v ign on) and light (warning light on dash)

if u can tell me the exact plugs or can take a pic i can tell you exactly what one is what...

hey man, just trying to suss the wiring out as im putting a 1uz into my MZ11 Soarer,

Kay, thers 4 wires on the plug that was going to 5m alt,

One of them seems to be giving me 12v constantly, think this is a black and yellow wire. one of the wires is giving me 5v? could be for light? not to sure

Strange... - on my Oct 82 model 5MGE (internally regulated), the alt. plug only had three wires:
- ignition (feed to the alternator)
- charge lamp (to run the charge lamp)
- sense (so the alternator can measure what the system voltage is)

There is, of course, a 4th wire (the big thick one going to the battery from the +B terminal) but I'm assuming you aren't counting this one.
