Just find out how much fluid an A340 takes and whack it in. As long as none is dripping out you know how much is in there.

I have never had a dipstick on mine in 5 years.

Alternately, go to a wreckers and find a cressida.......

You'll need to fix that line pressure cable and hook it up to the throttle linkage before driving it too. Just drop the pan and you'll see where it joins to the valvebody.

They don't have anything to do with each other.

EDIT: Ignore the above in relation to the MV Shiftbox.
I forgot you were talking about that, and consequently forgot you leave the shifter in D the whole time.

And as MrShin said, its quite simple to build a circuit to turn the solenoids on/off in the right order. How every, all these ones you pay money for have many many safety interlocks built into them. Without these interlocks your car could be quite dangerous in the hand of someone who has never used your 'manual' before.
With the interlocks though, the system is relatively idiotproof.

well, i was very excited last night.. as we were gearing up to fire it for the first time.. then as we cranked it to get the oil pressure up before starting, i noticed something odd on the timing belt.. joy of joys it was a chunk hanging off it.. so the 'replace cam belt' plan has stepped up... oh and once we took all that off, we found the water pump had been leaking.. tops..

BTW anyone know where to get a line pressure cable from?
