yeah i've done it. i just used theoriginal bolt holes. they were aftermarket ones and it was years ago so i can't remember the brand.
Hey guys,
Can someone confirm to me whether or not it's possible to fit TA22 retractable seat belts to a TA22 that came out with lap sash belts?
I'm sure that all the bolt holes will be the same, I just want to make 200% sure before I go ahead and cut a hole in the roof lining to find there are no holes there.
Can anyone confirm this?

Yes it can be done and I have done it. i bought aftermarket retractables with the drop link from the roof. The bolt that holds th retractor also holds the other anchor point of the belt.
Its all legal and they fit very well. I bought mine from www.seatbeltsolutions.com.au
Hope that helps

I just want to make sure that the bolt holes were the same in all 71-75 model TA22's. I didn't want to cut apart my roof lining and find they weren't there!
I've got a set of retractable belts now from another TA22... just wanted to know if they'll fit ok.

I fitted aftermarket ones to my 74 celica and it was easy to find the bolt hole and punch a hole the headlining
2nd the above comment, didnt have any dramas fitting aftermarket retractables.
Dont forget you need to make 2 pilot holes in the top of the rear tirm to screw in the locating strap
