    Chaser Mark II...

    what model code...?

you can do the 1JZ conversion into a GX81 model chaser, although im not sure how straight forward it is, i think that the x81 model chasers were avliable as 1JZ's from factory?

yours is turbo deisel, you it has the solid axle rear end, and will be a bit harder (not much though) to do.

the Z model is the Soarer...

i think you'll find that yours is an X series, most probably a x90...?

    allllllll good.

the "L" series engine sounds right though, so im assuming maybe an LX90 or LX91.

that said, a jzx81 cut, the 1jz should bolt in

well, im not really sure, there are massive differences in model codes, from mz10 to mz20's from MA60's to MA70's etc.

physically, im sure it'll fit, although im certain that there will be some messing around with mounts etc. especially in your case, as your cross member is with no doubt, different.

it will fit size wise, it will fit with messing around with mounts, however, im not sure whether you'll need front, mid or rear sump, that you will have to figure out yourself

I've been making my mind up between the GX81 and MZ20 1JZ conversion in thhe last week or two. And...

90% sure the jzx81 1/2 cut will bolt straight in.. Only problem would be tailshaft lengh as you'll find ur mates car (LX90) runs a live rear axle

I've chosen the MZ cause of the hefty weight of the Chaser(1550-1580kg).. but heres a pic of the GX81 Chaser I wanted to do the conversion on.. Just imagine the face on the VT Commo driver when the old shitbox 'Camry' steps out while lighting the rears and easily leaves him behind

there SHOULD be a 1JZ version of the X90, im 99.9999% sure

    ala JZX90/91

if they exist, it will be an absoloutley bolt-in conversion.

yeh i was hoping the jzx90 cut would bolt relatively hassle free into my mates x90 chaser..
the fact that it was a turbo diesel kinda caught me off guard.. haha
