    Default Shipping parts from NZ

Becasue of there import laws and dollar and other things its seems that some large auto parts can be had from NZ at far less than what we can source them here for,
has anyone ever tryed to bring a gearbox or engine or similar large item over from NZ? if so how did it go and what did it cost?
    Cheers

I have not tried to but the thought has crossed my mind quite a few times. From what I have been told you can buy container space that is leftover from other parties.
I was over there last november and if I could have organised it I would have loved to bring a container load of toyoa parts back. Some very cheap parts over there.
I dont know who you would contact to arrange it but I am sure it would be worthwhile.
Is it worth giving a large company like TNT or such a call.
    Cheers Dave

Don't forget that for large items, customs WILL charge you import duty, then GST, etc.

I've gotten half the parts I've needed for my Caldina from there. But the largest thing so far has been front hubs, weighing in at 20kg, which came through the normal post.
