Build a big box from mdf with a perspex lid on it. driff two holes on the sides and attach some industrial gloves and seal them to the box. Kinda like what you see in the hospital. then another hold to feed compress air inside and u have your sandblast box?

    just an idea...

I reckon the whole deal could be done for under $100 powdercoated. prolly about 60 if not. Postage included. If you really like burning sensations though, get some hardcore paint stripper and give it a burl.
Assumption is the mother of all f**kups...

Sounds good shelldrake, but cost of postage to VIC and back is ~$100 each way, as the centres weigh about 5kg each

paint stripper will work, Ive done it with a set of rims which I have , Its just a real bitch of a thing to do, as you need to reapply the paint stripper a couple of times before it all comes off.

shelldrake are you able to reveal your source? later on down the track i need to have the same thing done for my simmons centers. very good prices by the sounds of it

Paint stripper should work............. I removed powder coat from struts with the stuff. -- It was a pain in the arse though!

I bet if you do it this way half way through the job you will wish you just paid the money and had em blasted!!

so $200 for them to blast it (maybe) or $18 per litre (need probably 2 L ) and some elbow grease to do it myself ...

found some shit after researching on google, that "NITROMORS" available from the U.K. does the trick , now if only i could find the Aust equivilant..

Paint stripper will work but its awful to work with and a mess to clean. Seriously hunt down a good powder coater in wa.

My mate got all four wheels done for around 250 (sa) including powedercoating and it was a top notch job except that they are not silver as he intended but a primer grey colour

$44 for 4L of CAMM wheel paint remover from Park Automotive

The gent at park automotive (respected auto paint store for panel beaters in my area) said get the centres of the rims , scratch the shit outta the paint on there, with a wire brush or similar, paste the CAMM gel stuff on let it soak for ~5 hours then i should be able to jus peel off the paint by hand (with gloves)

    Seems easy enuf ...

He did warn that its really psycho shit and that i need gloves, jumper, jeans and a respitoring thingo ...
