Default HELP!!! 4age 100kw major problem

    gday guys,
i have major issues with my 100kw sx seca. beginning of my problems began when i think the crank pully is abit lose. it makes sum ticking and squeaking from that area. that didnt effect the engines performance and i could still drive it normally.(3,000rpm, change) however, in a carpark on a hill, a new problem arised. this was 2 days or so after the crank pulley problem. the engine's idle is now at 500rpm and constantly stalls at times. its harder to crank and it misfires at times. ive checked the spark plugs and leads. its happening in the middle 2 cylinders. if i unplug an injector when the engine is on in the first and 4th cylinder, it stalls the engine. but with the 2nd and 3rd(middle 2) it still misfires. theres compression in both cylinders. this is a big wat the.. for me.
i hope to hear what you's all got to say.
    thanks guys.

How's your oil level? Have you Re-tightened the crank pulley yet? Is it leaking any oil?

It could be the oil crankseal.

If its a headgasket has the resvior boiled? are you using water? checked the radiator cap?

Also check all vacuum hoses and the map sensor near the strut brace.

It might pay to do a compression test on all 4 cylinders and compare results.
If disconnecting the injectors on cyl 2 and 3 doesn't change the way the engine runs then you would have to say the problem is in those cylinders. Are you getting injector pulse and spark on these cylinders. Remember, to run an engine needs fuel, compression and spark so make sure these are right first.

did you change the plugs? they can sometimes look good but have issues. ALso try changing the fuel filter in case there is some blockage to the fuel

i had a similar problem with my 4AG,

turned out that the head gasket had blown out that little bridge between 2 and 3. but the compression on 2 and 3 were down alot on 1 and 4.

so if your comp is the same across all 4 cyls it may well be a different prob.

ok guys, ive done a compression test. cylinder 2 and 3 are F@#ked. about 140 psi each.
cylinder 4 is 225psi which is fine and cylinder 1 is 170psi???.
sorry i havnt replied in a while. makes it seem like im not grateful for ur opinions. so sorry. there are no leaks anywhere but i think the problem is what sprintah! suggests but im not sure about cylinder 1. is that on its way 2 meet with number 2?
beats me. love 2 hear anymore of your suggestions. thanks guys.

drop some oil in the cylinders and comp test again, if you have little/no change then its your headgasket or your valves are overlapping if compression does go up then you have a problem with your pistons/rings.

have you checked the harmonic balancer to see its not faulty, maybe pull it off and check the woodruff key as well. This may not be the answer to your cylinder problems but it could be one symptom of missfiring if the HM is shifting around and throwing the timing out.

BTW im with Oldcorollas.. 225 is mega high for a standard engine.. somethings very wrong there.
