then put a truetrack centre in instead...
saves the hassle of looking and paying for an LSD centre when yer eventually gonna swap it out anyway...
To be honest, mainly because I've never driven a clutch LSD (that was in good nick) in anger, and I loved the way my Truetrac behaved.Originally Posted by MR 1JZ

Well therein lies another dilemma. Where do I get a Truetrac for a Mk4? Some sources say the A-series diff is an 8" (203mm) ring gear. Others say it's a 200mm which is slightly smaller.

Why would you want a TrueTrac when there's a factory torsen option which is actually good?

Well they're good value, no different to me picking up a random LSD centre and retro-fitting it to my open centre, I like the way they react, they're brand new and readily available. Of course if I can find a factory Torsen that's a good idea but they're all compelling reasons.

When I first had the W58 fitted I had a 3.92 which felt a little tall. Swapping to the 4.08 made a slight but noticable difference - car felt much more alive and I've driven to Melbourne and back numerous times without complaint.
Hmm, interesting. I don't think either of them would phase me, the 3.9 is probably better in the "probably wont change it" long run.

If you're going to blow later on it that'd be the best bet IMHO.
