Yeah, they couldn't get the entry form up on the website so they emailed it. I've chucked one here. Just fill it out and make sure you are there before 8:00am and you should be right.

I've got those sway bars in the back off the car ready to go - finally found them hidden amongst all the rest of the junk I collect.

Gee, tyres and alignment do make a difference...

First run of the day I pulled out a 54.63 - I was hoping to crack into the 55s

Couldn't better that time, but kept near it so no fluke. Car felt sooo much better too.

Changes to the car to drop from 56.01 were the Bridgie RE001s in 195/50R15 (up from budget Yokie street tyres 185/60R14s), front castor kit and 1 degree neg camber. Few too many changes in one go, but that's how it was.

Very bloody happy. Got second in class (lost to a MX5 with Toyo R888s fitted) and finally beat the Gemini of Martin C.

Didn't stay for my last run when the rain came in - went home and spent time with my 3 year old son instead. He's good at standing on a ladder to squirt oil in through the spark plug holes on a project engine.

Other Toymodders had a good day - Steve spent a fair bit of the day sideways (boy can he drive) with much applause from the crowd, Michael got a great time and 1st in class and didn't get to see Richard run but I'm still bloody impressed with the times he's getting with a bog stock single cam AE82.

how come that mx5 is running in type 1/2 now??? if hes allowed to i guess i can compete in type 1/2 now

Well, I wasn't aware that it had been agreed upon, but there was talk of allowing any street legal tyre into Type 1/2 - and for the last 3 meets we have had cars with Type R tyres in the class (all winning no surprise). Not playing for sheep stations so no point complaining.

As for the roll cage - always be a point of contention in open cars. Think the argument is that it doesn't link any structures. Closed cars with any form of bar are straight into Type 3.

Yeah i'm not sure why Stewart was allowed in class 1/2, but who cares, we are in the lowest classes anyway!!

As Todd said, my ZZE123 Corolla did a pb of 52.83 which was good enough for 1st in class 1/2 1601 - 2000. Finally beat the S2000 and the MX-5!!!

Also was only 0.09s off the lap record for the class, so thats something to aim for next time.

If I were you Todd I'd point out that Stewart has coilovers, which is why he should be in type 3.....

i think they really need to run type1 and type 2 seperate... as the gap between a competive type 1/2 car to a type 3 is quite large....as type 3 is improved productions and stewerts mx5 could have another 50g spent on it to bring it to improved productions standard...

but the thing i done understand is that i can run my sprinter with coilovers in type 2 for supersprints but i go into type 3 for hillclimbs???

Clubs can run whatever classing they like - type 1/2/3/4/5/SV are just recommendations from the Hillclimb and Supersprint panels. SDMA is a prime example of where they make up their own rules to suit themselves.

Cars that have logbooks are much easier to class per their actual specification - ie 2B Marque sports or 3J Improved Production fit into type 3.
