How about a GT28RS? I think thats good sized turbo for a 2ltr.
Can anybody tell if this unit is a GEN 3 Turbo?
I had a inspection of my current GEN 2 CT26, And the connecting flange to the manifold is different..? This one seems to have 1 large peice instead of a Twin entry.
Could this be a Celica ST205? Were they twin entry type? Or could this be an Old CT20 of the Toyota Hilux disels?

1.5K is pretty damn close to a brand new turbo... why not get the GT series turbo of your choice?Originally Posted by sw20r

AU$TRALIA... come and stay and PAY and PAY!!! The moral high horse of the world!
I paid a bit over $1300 for a new GT28RS. It'd seem kinda silly to play with a CT26/20 at that really...
GT28Rs all the way
Well someone has come and saved the day! Aussie 3" dump pipe and Cermaic CT20b comming my way :d
Now I can hopefully have my car back on the road soon :d
How did you manage to break 5 turbos?![]()
Norbie!
www.norbie.net
1st turbo ran 1.2Bar (cermaic)
2nd was a dud with only 1 exhaust blade only boosted to 1psi.
3rd was another dud ct20b with scorred bushings
4th was a stock ct26.. again which was faulty!
5th was a highflowed turbo that blew due to the motor spinning a bearing.
With the 3 faulty turbos I had purchased I basicly got raped sideways. as no place had warranty on turbo though claimed "working good units" nor would exchange it. oh well
The first place did an exchange on my 1st turbo. When I asked for my old turbo back they wouldn't give it to me becuase it was someone else's turbo now.
WWWWWWwwwwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaht!!!!!!!!!!111one1??/ Did you not have a look at it before you bought it? I hope these turbos are not all from the same place?Originally Posted by sw20r

Nope Different turbos from different places from Sydney. They all claimed it was in good working nick. I just wanted my car up and running at the time. lesson learnt!
you poor bastard, you have had trouble alright.
good to heard you got your turbo, cant wait to see how the car goes on the rd.
~MR2 GT with a big arse turbo + a 3sgte built tonka tuff = lota Fun~
Hmm can anybody help me with the 1st post?
This certain CT26 has 4 bolts to the dump pipe instead of 6. Will this be an issue? Also the JDM manifold connecting flange to the turbo is a twin entry type. Will this cuase issues with this single entry?
I would have to say that it is a ct20b with a supra exhaust housing, as far as i know the old ct20 turbo had that written on it. The turbo will bolt up to the manifold but not the dump pipe so to fix that problem you will have to fit one of your old turbo exhaust housing
The only 3SGTE that had a single entry turbine was the Gen1.
That could be a CT20B compressor cover and wheel but who knows. The turbine housing could be either a Gen1 3S or 7M one.
Based on the wastegate actuator I am going to say it's a CT26 off a 7M. The 3S actuators have two hose fittings.
I hope you didn't buy this as a 3S CT20b. Although based on your previous turbo buying experiences I think your luck may be continuing.
I have a good CT20b lying around if you're interested.
Josh. I brought it from the sponsors here on toymods..
It's mike with the MR2 from the dyno day last time around. I had a chat with you about getting a CT20b. Can you Pm your offer?
