    Hey HenBro!

Do they usually wet down the track in these events? I'd love to come along and give it a try, but as it is my car struggles to break traction in the dry, let alone slide.

    Timbo

Edit: I'm not ruling myself out if it's going to be dry, I just don't feel like doing a temporary engine upgrade and weldy weldy

Timbo - No, we don't wet down the track at events. Power won't be an issue with some of the ativities (we had a stock Festiva drifting out there last time), but may limit you fo some (like donuts and figure 8s). However I think people are often suprised what you can do in a gutless car.

Oh, and I have spare locked S and T series diff centres. I can do them changeover or even just borrow one for the day if you ask nicely.... actually, no I just remembered the gokart results... no diff for you

Jnr - I have access to a fat MIG welder. If you have a spare centre it will fix your problems.

    Oooh... Thanks Mate! Soooo tempting!

I'll see how I go this weekend, gotta weld my handbrake back in (it ripped outta the floor 6 months ago, parking in gear since ) and while i've got the MIG out I might give my spare diff centre some "mods". Unless you don't need ur T-series anymore and wanna sell it, i'm pretty lazy!

If handbrake goes back in OK, and I can get some rims/tyres (don't wanna stuff the 17's, and they don't provide a safe amount of thread bite on the wheelstuds in my opinion) I might be in.

When do you reckon you'd need to have an entry in by?

Entries are preferred early, mainly so we can get a handle on the catering, however things are pretty flexible. Just no whinging about lack of food.

Also I discovered last night that my spare T series is in fact a spare busted T series and has the remains of an axle jammed in it. So that's out.

Plus I have stacks of 4 by 114.3 drift rims, some even with tyres whose use can be negotiated for the day. All 15s, all Nissan offset, but I do also have spacers...

    Damn you're feeling generous

I'll let you know how i'm looking in a week or so! I'd prefer not to borrow stuff if possible. Just cos no matter how much ppl say they're cool with it, I still feel bad

Im aiming to get my cressida ready for this event. Just need to convert it to manual (awaiting clutch), install my coilovers and reshim the lsd or weld the spare open centre. I went last time as a spectator and it was great.

Ladies and gents, I am not taking the piss and trying to drum up custom when I say "spots are filling quickly, so please call Calder soon if you want to drive at this event"

I am also willing to help out anyone wanting to make it to the event with welding, wheels, tyres, etc... Just drop me a PM if needed.

Sorry Ben, not going to be in for this. Nothing has progressed on my car, and it looks like I might be in brissy that weekend fixing up rental houses anyways

If i'm around, i'll still come out for a look though!

    Timbo.

P.S. Dropped off the axles to Todd today. He's seems a top bloke!
