i think they are different but im not sure.
i believe the 1j is smaller in diamater.
i konw that the 1j has a small flywheel which makes it very hard to find aftermarket clutches that will work.

I am looking to import a clutch from the states. None of the clutch companies list 1JZGTE in the states . They only list 2JZGTE. Are the clutches the same ? Are the flywheels the same ? I may be after a billet flywheel as well.

2JZ-GTE clutch and flywheel is different. 7M-GTE clutch is the same but the flywheel is unique to the 1JZ-GTE so you might want to source that from Japan. Another alternative is to modify a 2JZ-GE flywheel to accept a 1JZ-GTE/7M-GTE clutch as discussed in an earlier thread.

As norbie said, the 7mgte pressure plate and clutch disk are the same as 1jz-gte.
Flywheels as said before are different
