Default tremec TKO gearbox to Auto a34xe bellhousing adaptors

There's an interesting product i read about awhile but never thought it was a big deal... till now.

Anyhow, it allows you to bolt a tremec TKO (GM pattern) to any A34x auto bellhousing..... used with a hydraulic thrust bearing (assuming A34x bolt patterns are the same... which i'm told are).

It isn't cheap just for the fact that TKO gearboxes are pricey but it IS an option that most people didn't know about. Personally, i'm hoping to use this behind my v12.

They make no mention of it on their site, but i found this through Lextreme as i think they're a sponsor there.

An interesting option indeed.. TKO600 is a bit of a rough thing, but it does give another option to keep in mind for various conversions some of us might be silly enough to try!

Why is it rough and why would you need to be silly to try? lol.

Well, last one I drove was a bit clunky feeling.. Classic muscle car gearbox. As for being silly, well, I'm always silly, and I'll try anything like this Thanks for spotting that though, I shall keep it in mind for a conversion I might get around to trying sometime before too long, if I'm lucky...

    nice!!!

    whats the bellhousing worth?

and whats a TKO worth roughly?

    could be a cheaper option than a built R154 or a g3trag

Can't imagine it's cheap based off their other prices. The alternative is an off the shelf bellhousing from CRS, that's what the GT8 uses.

Which is fine if you're planning to use a 1UZ... If you've got ideas of using something else though (Hi guys.. Yeah, I was wondering if you had a bellhousing for a Toyota V12...
...Toyota make a V12? Nah, mate, must be a Jag motor)
Then it might be a bit harder with CRS!

That is true. Just didn't want all the 1UZ owners planning to use it to get bent over!

Dont mean to hijack the thread but im looking into pairing my 1uz with a tremec t56 gearbox.. Do CRS make a bellhousing to suit this conversion? ive heard that the t56 doesnt have a detachable bellhousing which makes it impossible without lengthening the input shaft, but dont know if thats correct?

5000gt i remember vaguely that you were looking at a t56 at one stage as well? what changed your mind?

double overdrive.... first gear tends to get stripped without too much trouble (happened to a mate 2 times at 540rwhp from ls1).... and couldn't find a CAD of the bell pattern (thought it would be common). There is no need to lengthen the shaft. You make up for it with offset flywheel setup and spigot to match....

In the end, i'd still consider it if i HAD to have a 6spd or intended to cruise the freeway often... but that just isn't my case.

Regarding this adaptor plate, i'm considering itas it IS my only bolt on option plus i had intended to use a TKO one way or another.

I dont NEED the double overdrive but cruising at low revs is appealing as im sure ill do a few freeway ks. Also with a turbo on the 1uz im not worried about torque at lower revs..

Which model t56 did your mate have? as the VE commodore t56's have triple synchro 1st and 2nd and double 3,4,5,6..

im only aiming for around 350rwkw anyway..

What sort of money do CRS charge for bellhousings? ive budgeted $500 but really have no idea..

Both CRS and Dellow don't support the T56. If you intend to go that way, you're on your own unfortunately.

My mate has a vy. Then again, i have heard of some holding up more than 500hp..... but not much more, haha.

Sorry i can't be of any further help regarding the t56.

TKO600 is not chunky... its a very smooth box, if you want to test drive one for free walk into you nearest holden dealer.

They are a very good option as they are so cheap, 3 grand landed to your door (in Australia) BRAND NEW with warranty.
Better than getting some 2nd hand toyota box.

the plate would be probly a couple of hundred, but im sure that slave/throwout bearing setup would cost a packet and a half.
much better than a fork design thow.

    cheers

    Don't Holden use a T56?
