    Default Small chip out of new genuine 3sgte Toyota OEM oil pump normal? - Pics

    On the oil pump within the circle where the main seal is inserted there is a small chip approx 2mm. Like a semicircle, I looked at my old pump and found it on it aswell. Is that right? The 'chip' on my new part looks a little more rough than my old. Anyway just to rest my mind at ease I thought id ask. Engine is a gen 2 3sgte

    yep its normal i think its to let oil onto the rear of the crank seal to stop it hardening
