Nice, way better angle into the turbine housing & better wastegate intergration (if that's the start of two wastegate runners I can see on the strut tower side?).

In the quote above it states that you ran it up with the same tune as previously used but if it was tuned correctly in the first place wouldn't you then require an extra 14.7% fuel to be added to compensate for the extra power you where making?
or was it running overly rich when previously tuned?

the merge is done quite well but im a little curious as to what the little stubs are leading out towards the strut tower? and how are you running the wastegate pipes as the seam to lead off 1 runner each rather than bleeding off the sides of the merge as per normal.

mine tune up is always rich mate, thats the way justin tunes and in my opinion is why i could run 37 psi and a 80 shot through my 194000k stock 1j and it never blew up, everyone else who tried fried pistons or broke rods. i know its costing me power but at the end of the day i would prefer to have less power and a fatter tune with a safety margin.

after 2 dyno pulls it was then fully retuned

the stubs is the start of the wastegate pipes, once onthe car we routed the rest of them, which they go straight into 90 deg bends away from each other into the wastgate then back out and dump.

i certainly agree with that, i refer to them as a "Paris Hilton tune", rich and retarded

Figures after it was retuned? (just for a better comparison running same AFRs etc)
i just don't want the kiddies running out and buying them just to bolt it on with a massive increase in power, then have a lunched engine 2 days later due to running lean.

My eyes were playing tricks on me, i was looking at the alloy shroud on the engine mount thinking it was one of the wastegate pipes (a long drive back from Gilgandra has that effect). i thought you had covered up the original outlets, but alas i was incorrect (damn eyes)

i call it the "laying the smack down tune", cause thats what it keeps doing

figures after it was retuned, fugged if i can remember 14 months later mate. i know it went another 140 or so rwhp at 31 psi, how much of that was manifold change and how much of that was strapping the car down differently and it getting better traction on the dyno i cant say. once this thing gets to around 720 at the wheels its a challenge to keep it on the rollers and/or not frying the tyres.

justin has just purchased the horsepower package from dyno dynamics same as they use at summernats so hopefully once and for all we will truely know what the true output is without copious amounts of wheels spin, i hope. if not we will be off to hire a hub dyno.

also, i dont think we have kiddies on this forum, they are all over in the fast fours forums full sik hectic. i pretty sure everyone who glances in the tech and conversation thread has enough common sense to understand if you make significant changes to a cars setup you retune it to get the most out of those changes.

the whole point of this thread is to give the results of a big dollar manifold made by a respected japanese company vs an australian made product. and the results are the ausie product delivered better power, better turbo response, lower 60 foot times, lower 330, 660 and 1320 feet times and higher MPH. and whilst i realise that not all toymods people are drag racers, i know they appreciate hearing about results of different products that can be applied to their every day or weekend toyota.
