yeah your much better off buying the eninge for next to notthing findind a skyline forum site and selling it on there to someone with an R32 or R33 (assuming you can cram same engine in there engine bay) and using proftits to do what ever. even if you sell it for $300 dollars more thats still $300 in your pocket??

sure if you want to fit it, it will be a challenge, and if you can get the motor cheap and know what you are in for then why not.

Why wouldn't you? Obviously theres alot of research to be done and alot of custom parts to be made (and paid for), but if I ever saw a TA23 with an RB25 in it, I'd be bloody impressed to say the least, and so would everyone. Therein lies reason enough I suppose...

serious suggestion? sell the RB25 and find a 1G-GTE, sump to fit TA front crossmember, W58 and a T-series LSD. You'd still have all the fabrication issues of an overly-long engine in a small engine bay, but fewer weight issues and closer comparisons (for solving chassis and engineering issues) when faced with mechanical dilemas.

There are a few 1JZ's stuffed into RA23's - not so sure about TA's given the slightly shorter engine bay.

With the big, (heavy) iron block of the RB25, you would be heading into lead-tipped-arrow handling territory.

I have seen a few 4cyl nissan's in Qld (at Willowbank mostly) but again, they've been RA-bodied.

there is the 23 with a 1JZ (hypo77) and from memory the zoom article on the car stated that the firewall had to be moved back approximately 2 inches to accomidate the radiator. considering that the 1JZ and the RB25 are both 2.5L straight 6's i'm more than certain that similar modifications would be required to fit in an RB25 into the engine bay.

have you considered putting the engine into a different model car? the 23 would be an absolute nightmare. you may wish to look at a nissan of some sorts that already has an RB engine in it. This would make for a much easier conversion considering that the engine bay and driveline is already built for an engine of this kind. the balance of the car would not be put out so much and would save you lots of custom fabrications.
