    Jamie hit the nail on the head. Bonus is, the Commodore air temp sensor is amazingly almost a direct fit for the factory cold start injector in the inlet manifold. When you screw it in, it will bite into the alloy inlet manifold, remove it and reinsert with a smear of gasket goo on the thread and bam, you have a factory looking air temp sensor

    commode air temp sensor is also quite responsive being an 'open cage' design. is found at the back of the intake manifold on V6 engines, also grab the plug if you get one as it's a handy water proof item that doesn't go brittle with age/heat.

    +1 for VN holden air temp sensor

    its what I used on my 1JZ

    I used the VN water temp sensor too

    just a note: this is a bad thing for turbo engines - air density changes significantly with air temperature - so changing your fuel and timing to suit manifold air temps is important and will greatly extend the potentially short life of an engine.
