Default idle up and down - GZE

    Hi Yall

When im rolling up to set of lights with the clutch in my idle goes 800rpm 1300rpm 800rpm 1300rpm and so on until i get to about 5 km per hour when the idle sits normal again. Its just annoying rather than anything else.

It is a strange phenomena that I cannot explain please help.

My motor is a AFM GZE with Nevo 175mm and w2a cooling stock ecu.

air in the coolant system is the normal cause for idle bounce in the gze. but i did have this problem a while back in the feral when it was still a gze and it wasnt air in the coolant at all, i was getting a bouncy idle and stalling at the lights when pulling up etc.
i ended up adjusting the bypass screw (screwed it anti-clockwise to open it up a little) on the AFM and it solved my problem.

Check all your vacuum lines, and look for voltage drops with cold start relay thingy.

Air in the coolant is what causes the voltage issues as when the air hits the sensor it gives a reading as though the coolant is cold and bumps the idle up.

Vacuum has been checked many times. The idle hunt seems a little too 'uniform' to be the issue, however, i will attempt to release air in the coolant on my day off.

    ummm... you mean this...
    http://gb.detonated.org/mr2coolant/

if you reverse the car up some ramps, bleed the radiator top valve, heater valve and thermastat valve doobies to check if any air comes out, take radiator cap off and run the engine at idle for a while, you should eliminate any air that 'might' be in the system.
