    Default Intercooler piping - MZ20

My intercooler piping is very dodgy and leaks. Mix of stock with 2.5" mild steel. I am trying to find the easiest and cheapest way of making new piping preferably without welding.

As I see it there are 3 options

1 - Get one of those ebay universal intercooler pipe kits with some pipe in various bends with clamps and joiners.

2 - Get it professionally welded (expensive)

3 - Get a few metres of straight tube and use silicon bends.

And then there is ghetto spec pvc option. Thoughts? Keep in mind I'm not keeping car long and only want to spend minimal money while getting slight better performance without leaks.

Wildsupra, stock 1J with exhaust, cooler and boost = 12.8 with PVC piping.

    so yeah, it works.

borrow a mates arc welder, or hire/buy one (under a handred bucks if ya look around) and tack everything up yourself.

dunno about the ebay kits, JZZ30 fits MZ20 with a 1J. but 7M is more difficult.

I bought some bends from a wholesale exhaust shop. 2 1/4" bends were $15ea. Along with a couple of joiners, reused a couple of good condition stock bends and clamps the total came to around $100. I cut them to fit and dad welded them together. Easy peasy.

This is half of it... 7M in MA61

Looks the goods. Where did you get the joiners from? All the places I have been charge 30-50$ just for a shitty bend.

Those 2 top ones are stock 7M, one of them choped to suit. The lower one i bought from Briely hose and handling. Joiners i got from a place called Purple Pig. Just an industrail hose and fittings place. A 2" 2 1/4" piece of boost hose i think they called it, was $10. Auto-Ex is the place i think i got the pipes from, in North Hobart, Tas.

You can see the joiner from purple pig connecting the IC pipe to the cooler (thats going from 2 1/4" to 2", thats why it looks too big on the IC inlet pipe). That other black joiner you can see on the lower piping is just an offcut from that one i bought from Briely hose and handling.
