you fail at pictures, take some of the diff from the back and the front, then maybeye take a wheel off and take a photo from side on.
edit: much better pics
Hey peoples.
Just trying to confirm exactly what is under the back of my hachi.
Its got LSD so im betting that its a T series housing.
its also has disc setup, but it has no handbrake cables. i went into toyota today and they said there is a "GT" rear end. this is the only sort with disc setup.
are these callipers genuine JDM items? so i can order the correct cables
some info or confermation would be great.
Cheers
Huw

Agreed... need better pics to know for sure. But what i can see of the bearing retainer in the 1st pic, it does look like the same bolt pattern as an ae86 disk rear end.

After seeing better photos the calipers appear to be early style, may have been retro fitted in japan, I have a pair of these calipers on a "f" series diff out of RA 40 GT that bolts into AE86, looks like "t" series diff tho

none of the brackets look modified so my moneys on it being a stock t series, dunno about the calipers but.
They definately dont look like standard t series brakes. The disks look different as well. The regular ones slot directly over the hub with a much smaller centre hole than the ones in these pics.
The calipers look a little different too. I remember the handbrake connector being on the lower section of the caliper rather than the centre. Are those disks vented as well?
Eddie.
EDIT: And if you could also take another pic of the front of the diff centre from the OTHER side (passenger) and i can tell you if it's a T or F series.

Large centre hole in disc has me puzzled , the lip on the front of the disc (near where wheel bolts to flange) looks like ra40 style disc, its a t serties diff by virture of long bolt holding diff centre in.
S series has that long bolt too
They look very similar to mine, but not identical,
Mine are definately AE86 as they use the same disks and calipers
yours dont look like they have been midified to fit either.
But that then begs the question where do they come form. mabey an aftermarket supplier in japan ??

Sorry I can't help you out more with the brakes other than they're definately not stock brakes. Is there a part number on them by any chance? If you can find one, i can run it through the EPC for you.

Looks exactly the same as my T-series here. Either way, the stock Toyota T-series disc rear end cables should fit fine as the actuator is in the same spot at the bottom.

hey sorry if im wrong but they kinda look like the rear disc that i am putting on my T series rear end off a RT142 corona avante, i mean i might be wrong but it might be worth looking into....i can also get some pics if you want to see if they are the same....
Scott
nah - they are definately not RT142/st141 avante disks and callipers.
