1UZFE INTO 2WD HILUX Questions

I'm about to start my Hilux conversion. I bought engine mounts from Rod Shop and was
told that I need to purchase the 1UZFE with the sump in the upmost front position.
From talking to wrecker's I take it that that is the early Toyota crown type sump.

Having difficulties finding Crown 1UZFE. Will I get way with the Celsior front style sump?

Should I go for a later engine and just buy Crown sump and oil pick up, or is there more
involved?

Also, I've been told the the early Crown uses a separate power trans computer to run the
box.Does the Celsior? I'm going to use an aftermarket fuel ignition computer to run the
engine and was thinking of using auto box - but if it uses the factory ECU / Power trans
(1 unit) I might just go for a manual conversion.

Early Crown is midsump (89-92)
93 onwards Crown is front sump
All Celsior are front sump.
Front sumps are all the same (ignoring the uber rare Crown Ambulance)

Early crown is the only one that has separate tranny ecu.
Tranny ecu needs engine ecu there for items like TPS, Temp, etc, this can be fooled/inputed but needs some technical wizardry.

Thanks mate. I'll go with the Celsior motor I was looking at, and a Crown Autobox. I've been lurking on Toymods forums and Lextreme lookin for info, but maybe i'm just really bad at forum seach engines, coz I can't find much.

Hint : millsi's 1uzfte 2wd hilux conversion in members rides , among probably 20 others ive seen on lextreme and toymods ive seen personally.

Someone confirm? venom motorsports in brisbane sell modified wiring looms for 1uz conversions into hiluxs and all the other goodies you need?

Scott at Venom said that you can use the Crown autotrans on later auto box's.

You can, but the autotrans ecu is expecting to see a reluctance sensor looking at a 32 pulse/rev chopper wheel.

All the later auto box's have a hall effect sensor looking at a 4 pulse per rev chopper wheel.

Plug one into the other without modding something and it will throw a code and won't shift properly.

Haven't updated this in a while.

Got around having to use the crown ECT altogether.
I had sideshow build me and Auto Unit. Good price too!
