yeah thats what i was trying to work out cos i need the 8.9:1 pistons but thats the info toyota gave me and he wasn't sure what the mark 1, 2 and 3. Should it matter what one i need to get?
why not go 0.50mm OS? then you don't need to worry about the stock pistons sizes.. and can start with a fresh bore![]()

well i have the engine basically ready to go how much would it cost to get it bored out that much? cos the engine at the moment is already been re honed?
look at your current pistons....... each current piston shows a small "1" , "2", or "3" on the crown
note the #2 on the piston on the left
*IF* the engine doesn't need an overbore... and a quick and simple hone will make it perfect... repeat piston sizes.
Oh... btw... above are early, and later 4AGZE pistons
Information is POWER... learn the facts!!
yes those are the correct numbers for 8.9:1 pistons
the differing sizes are to allow for production tolerances.
when your making a few hundred thousand blocks you cant them all exactly the same.... not for a cheap mass produced car anyway.
