Here's a few pics of my mate's MX73 that we built up for powercruise. It hit the road tonight.
Cressy of death. One owner, brown trade in with couches for seats.
Norbie inspired engine mounting.

GTR Mechanical LSD fitment.
95mm exhaust.
ECU wiring.
The engine is from an Aristo and has the original auto with an MV 4000 stall and shift kit.
There is still GTR brakes to be fitted but not before this weekend's powercruise unfortunately.
All the work except the frankenstein tailshaft(R33 GTST front shaft and centre bearing with tripod aristo flange, GTR CV joint rear shaft) and resplining the GTR axles to suit the MX73 outer CV was done by us. It also has WRX thermo fans(they seem to fit every toyota perfectly*shrugs*).
Sleepy.
Sleepy indeed, turbo looks like it's painted desert camo for extra stealthy goodness
amazing
when are the videos coming?
i bet the rear end squats right into the bump stops under full noise?

Very cool! This will do ridiculous skids and frighten small children, which is exactly what Toymods is all about.

We scored a GTR rear end and brakes from the importer I get all my Subaru cuts through as a favour for fixing his mates WRX. We were going to try and fit an Aristo diff but he had lots of GTR rear ends so got one of them instead. Fitting the diff was the most difficult part of the conversion(the rest was very easy, far easier than an MX83 regardless of engine mounting). We will likely get another rear subframe and redo the mounting on a jig as it is a bit rough for my liking(not enough time to do it nicely).Originally Posted by rob
The axles are from the GTR and have been resplined by a local engineer/race fab guy. It worked out pretty well really.
Don't have anymore pics of the diff but here is some of the exhaust housing that we changed from unobtainable V band to 4 bolt flange. We also welded in a tapered sleeve to block the internal gate of the scania exhaust housing.
Here's the cressy last night before it's maiden voyage.

very tough,
what did you do with the front of the diff to locate the crossmember correctly? as in what stops the crossmember moving up and down and changing the rear toe and camber?
cheers
