My MX83 has one of those 90degree bends on the speedo cable
EDIT: Series I only, Series II is electric.
HI
Does anyone know if a any other speedo drives will fit a T50 box.
Have got the std one in there now but unfortunatly due to a very limited amount of room the electric sender I got to screw onto the std unit won't fit as it is to long.
So I was wondering if there are any late model elec senders that will bolt in from something else.
Or failing that I remember seeing some cars with a 90 degree attachment that screws onto the drive then the cable goes onto this but can't remember what cars had them.
So any help/info greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

What electronic sender have you got? The MX83 electronic sender is quite small - I think it's more compact than the 90degree drive - if that doesn't fit I dont think there'll be a lot you could use...Originally Posted by M.J.H

Unfortunatly there is not a lot of room in the tunnel area so the one I got won't fit.
Will check the wreckers for the cressy stuff and see how i go with that maybe.
Cheers.

the electronic senders on 7M supras and soarers are quite flat as well. you need to get one from a car that has the same (or very close) diff ratio as yours though because they are all calibrated to that ratio. Same with the right angle pieces I think they all match up to certain ratios. I know a couple of people who have conversions and had their speedos out and they fixed it by taking the angles from the old gearbox that was taken out.did the same with my conversion. gearbox wasn't changing automatically and wouldn't go into drive, only 1st and 2nd. took the electronic speed sensor from the 7M box that came out and put it in the 1J because I have a standard 3.7 diff in the soarer and the 1J came out of a car with 4.1. wires were a little different but got hold of diagrams so I could mate the wires up and the car drove perfect. Only way I picked it up was from diag codes.

Not true! The electronic sender puts out a set number of pulses per rev (4 or 20 in my experience). This ins't cald to the diff...it is one or the other.Originally Posted by yotamotion

Thanks for the help.
Got to Dads tonight and he had a anglr section which is off the cable driven speedos and an elec sender for the leco speedos both from the MX83 Cressys.
The good news is the elec sender fits like it was made to be there on the T50 as well as just clearing the tunnell.
But now for the really dumb question about the elec sender from the MX83.
There are 3 wires which I reckon are in the following order
Red=Pos power
Black=Earth
Yellow=Pulse signal to the speedo unit.
Didn't have the multi meter with me to test it but that is how I figure they go.
Anyone know for sure?
Thanks
