    Jase,

Commodores have long had an in-tank plastic fuel bucket (to protect against surge) of nearly a litre capacity filled by an impeller pump driven by the high pressure fuel.

Maybe you're talking about 10+ year old commodores, or maybe this was just bandwagonslanderingp00outarsebbqshittalkingwithout justification....

If you can mod your celica tank to fit a commodore MRA inside, you'll get an intank EFI and "lift" pump, easily capable of a supplying enough fuel for a stock 1G and what is effectively a small surge tank. All cheaply and easily accessable and replacable

I'm just getting sick of bandwagon slandering in general, especially when it's not all that accurate. That's all.

Timbo, i speak from experience and yes i was talking about the VL. So roughly 20yrs old

This particular one have massive surging problems, and this is with a lil under half a tank..!
This was a VL calais turbo, maybe 220rwkw, upon hitting boost or a kinda decent launch she'd shit herself with anything less than half a tank. So i'd have to run a full tank everwhere i went.

Just thought the comment was a little bit generic to say all commodores are the nemesis of a decent fuel system. Any commodore of at least the last 10 years will have a stock fuel system to make us early celica owners jealous, and I believe fitting the MRA into a celica tank would not be out of the question.

Each to their own with the "Commodores/Falcons are heaps of crap because of the badge" opinions, i'm just not one to jump on that bandwagon. I own 5 toyota's and 0 "other makes" because of a passion for Toyotas, but I'm not pig-headed to the other brands' benifit. I'll leave that sort of behavior to those stereotypically associated with other forums.

Im not riding any wagon of bands, ive just had to many issues with holdens from as early as the vk to as late as somewhere around the later vt's.
With a whole lot in between.
I actualy dont mind holdens, as far as bang for buck goes. I mean for a few hundred bucks, you can get a manual vl with rego. And for wats its worth, thats prolly about the best most p platers could do, hence why there are so many shit heads driving vl's haha
I know a manual vl would eat my rolla, haha But ive had german shepards out run my rolla, so thats not say a whole heap lol

Anyway, thanks for this MRA idea, ill look into it... Might be a good idea...

So you say it needs a lift pump and a efi pump? But can all fit into the fuel tank? How big is this MRA?

    Cheers,

The MRA is a has a flat round top, which is where it fixes to the tank.

There are two vertical slider rods that the bucket can slide up and down on, so will suit a variety of tanks.

The wire/float on the side is a level sensor that could be adapted to work. If you're current sensor is working fine then it's probably best just to rip it off.

I still believe the easiest option is to drop in an intank pump, run a surge tank and a high pressure EFI pump. BUT, if you can mount it in the tank, this solution would give you all this in a cheap, replaceable unit. If you get carried away with engine mods, i'm sure high flow pumps to suit the MRA would be available for all the LS1 boys.

Maybe its time i start talking to RoadRunner about making me something...

Well first i might start looking at ideas and concepts where i could mount...

So who on here uses a surge, and in what combo of pumps?

Its best to match a system.... Easy enough to do....

    1) Choose injectors... What size do you need for the engine? Multiply times # of cylinders.
    2) Add 20% to the max volume of the injectors, that is an ideal volume for your fuel pump.
    3) Make sure your fuel feed and return lines car flow the volume your injectors require @ WOT
    4) FPR... needs to be able to flow the full volume of the fuel pump subtracting the volume of the injectors at idle (volume for injectors at idle is ECUs minimum duty cycle times the injector volume)

Works on all efi cars I know of.....

Edit was to add line #3

What is the max pressure you would want on a stock 1GTTE

Do you need to run the fuel dampener as well ?

PS If you want i will sell you my 984 Jay, they are 600hp from memory, should be plenty for the 1ggte.
