Get friendly with a half decent exhaust fitter, ask him to make a couple of manifolds to suit a turbo. I'm confident I could get my mate to make me one for under 200$.
Turbos are waaay cheaper than blowers too. Should be a piece of piss to source a pair of T25's from a nissan.
At the moment it is (especially when you look at the 7k 'kit' from PlanetSoarer)
But someone is working on a manifold designed for it, so that will bring mucho costs down.
The option is the FAT manifold
Its about $1500 last check though, website is down, so can't check right now.

You could do it for less than 7K but at least the kit bolts up and you're driving it that day. Also, no need to open the motor, which is a very attractive feature. Power goes from 130 -> 170 rwkW. Seems fair to me.....
Looking at the dyno sheet we had for a 1UZ at the last dyno day, it really makes ALL it's torque low down, then it just falls off the map. What you wanna do is figure out why it's doing that, and then change stuff to move your peak torque up higher.
The reasons I can think of:
head restrictions, intake restrictions, exhaust restrictions, cam restrictions.
Head restrictions are hard to fix. I dunno what the angle on the intake port section of the head is, but there isn't much you can do about that. So forget about that for the time being.
Intake restrictions are easier. Just bolt on a bigger plenum with better runners & throttle body, or quads.
Exhaust restrictions are obvious. I've seen 1UZ exhaust manifolds and they look horrid. Getting some propper extractors on there would seriously help, but you have to tune it with your cams.

But the big one would be the cams themselves. The torque curve on those drops of SO harshly! You want something to help it breath more higher up. You may also want to look into new valve springs to bring the redline up and give you access to more power... but this is getting into the land of expensivetown!
I dunno how accurate this dyno chart is. The actual RPM values are wrong, that's for sure, but take what you will from it:
1UZ-FE in a crown, on the dyno.
Personaly, I'd ditch the auto box too. N/A + Auto = what's the point?

hmm... 4 camshafts to buy sounds expensive... id rather get some adjustable cam gears and see if i can shift the power band a bit higher in the rev range
Ahh yes, I forgot about cam timing. You'll probably want adjustable cam gears too.
I doubt you could get 200kw without cams though.

Nim, I'm not sure where you are getting your figures from, but stock peak power is in the 5000-5500rpm range, and peak torque is about 4000rpm.

Realy? I'm getting it from a dyno sheet. Perhaps the RPMs wheren't matched up properly by the mechanics.
Assume that peak torque is actualy doubled... hrm, that changes things. Let me have a look.
EDIT: Yep, just looked it up. That dyno sheet must be wrong. (atleast in RPM values).
Stuff it, just rebuild the whole engine to rev out to 9000rpm!That'll give you your 200kw and then some.

There is a datalog of mine, main mod is extractors.
You can see it uses most fuel at ~4000-4500rpm.
Given that the AFR's are fairly flat, one would assume it has peak torque in that range.

EFI hardware in Mitcham (Victoria) (www.efihardware.com - 9873 5400) was in the process of setting up indepentant throttle bodies for a 1UZFE in the owners Soarer last time I was there, 12 months ago. It was a very good looking kit. Extremely neat. They were planning on running it with a Hawk ECU.
If your going that route it may be worth a phone call - sometimes its easier dealing with companies in your own country.
And for anyone else setting up EFI on there vehicle they are really helpful and really know how to set up an EFI system.

Peak power figures don't go anywhere near telling the whole story on how a M90 supercharged 1UZ-FE is transformed.

I allways wonder about these bolt on boost kits. Are they worth it? How much boost can you run on an engine with stock internals anyway?
