Slightly off topic, did you run a separate intake and pod to each turbo? I've often thought of doing it, this is the first time I have seen it done, did you notice much of a difference?

    Just another thought...
    - have you actually measured your intake temps (ie with a thermocouple in the airstream both pre & post intercooler). It may be that your intercooler is doing a reasonable job of taking whatever heat is being conducted into your air out again.
If this is the case you're trying to solve a problem that isn't really there.

    Regards

Who did you get to do the job? That would be ideal for a single turbo v6 project I have. It would help reduce the amount of pipe length increase, by keeping the heat out of the pipe material itself, for the pipe that joins the manifolds together.

the packet said "high temp paint"

main reason was to seal the fibres in and stop them from getting into everything.

as far as cracking and rotting under the tape.... many maifolds are made form SHIT metal.. they will rot and crack anyway.. and a bit higher temp and they are rooted.

people are too quick to blame the tape for ruining their "sooper dooper" manifold that cost them $X from a famous brand...

That's correct, if you have a manifold which hasn't been welded correctly, then retaining more heat inside it via "Thermal wrap" is only going to crack the welds sooner......

Shit metal or not, there's a correct welding procedure for every single multi-type ( lol ) metal.

i reckon some cars just get tooooo hot, just basically because, theres no venting the heat from the engine bay, like with the 7m. these basically no where the heat can escape to, when its at the back of the engine bay. its stuck there.

thats some good shit that thermal wrap, its does the job and keeps the heat down. so the cooling system can keep up. if something is hot. and its surrounded by more heat! its gonna get mega hot. real fast. get my drift.

just dont get it wet. that stuff stinks bad.

True, I have a 165 I am going to rally, so the under bonnet temps will be high and the stuff will get wet. Will just have to see how it goes without the wrap
