Toymods disappears around 10PM

when i get the problem toymods.net doesnt resolve, something to do with the MX records maybe???

I can report similar behavior, the site slowed down from about 9.30. And at nearly 10.30 It died in the poo hole. getting time out errors in IE.

I also notice the slowness the first time I log in when I have a new PM. That only ever seems to be a problem when you have the pop up PM alert activated. and Only occurs when the pop up comes up. you could possibly turn the pop up feature off and see if that makes a difference as at work the pop up doesn't work and I don't notice the speed drop.

Simon, the pop-up feature makes no difference in the slowness of the delivery of the PM notification inside the browser, I tried this too. It's slow to say you've got a PM at the best of times. Obviously the speed of your internet connection will determine just how fast you can receive the notification inside the window, but it's guaranteed slower than just bringing up the browser window without the PM notification inside it. Mine says "Waiting for toymods.net..." in the bottom left of the window for an extended period, like the browser has halted, but it's still working. I don't know of a way to turn off the PM notifications though, maybe something an Admin could look into?

Its in your user CP! Just uncheck the pop-up notification of PM.

Andrew - to turn the pop up off just go to User CP --> Edit Options. Then under the Messaging and notifications, it's the 3rd option

My pop up alert only works 50% of the time as it is (On the same machine, it just randomly won't work)

And yes, Toymods was EXTREMELY slow from around 9:30PM on the 16th of October, dieing in the ass at 10:33PM
When it started running slow, my first thought was "uh-oh, toymods is about to die!"

The forum was down between 11:45 and 14:45... (Started slowing down at 11:25)

And the Toymods homepage was down between 12:15 and 14:15...

Seems as though the forum died in the arse today. It seems to be working now but it went down at around 3:20 this afternoon.
