I've got one sitting in my shed disassembled if you want to measure it?
hi folks,
am seeking a smaller (read: cheaper clutch) for my 1G. I'm curious as to whether the 3T flywheels have the same clutch face diameter.
edit: 2nd query, is 3TGE flywheel same as 3TGTE? again, just interested in clutch face as am assuming bolt pattern on back of crank is the same.
edit 2: see last post for new query

Charles

sorry only 3tc pushrod motor made, theres no 3tge.edit: 2nd query, is 3TGE flywheel same as 3TGTE? again, just interested in clutch face as am assuming bolt pattern on back of crank is the same.
i cant remember about the 3tgte, i think it may have a bigger flywheel and clutch
the bolt pattern is the same for 2tg, 3tc and 3tgte as far as i know,
6 bolts.

styler: thanks for that - i got my 2tge and 3tgte mixed up - my bad.
Sounds like the 3tc clutch area is too small -
esteban: if it's easy to get to - measurements would be greatI'll try to get hold of simon to see what he knows about them too.
I can get a relatively cheap h/d or button clutch at the 225mm size, but at the 236mm size is a lot more expensive. Unfortunately, my existing 1G wheel appears to be the larger size.
But if a 3TGTE flywheel is the same as the gen 1/2 1G wheels in terms of locating pin and attachment points for the clutch/pressure plate - i'd prefer to go down that route.
ta,
Charles
3TGTE is smaller than 1G ones I'm pretty sure .... but quite usable as I've heard
of a fair few people using them.

yeah - a few threads that i found said that they were 'identical' - whether that also includes the clutch i'm not sure - am going to estabans' place tonight to measure his flywheel.
I know for sure that a 3TC clutch will bolt up to a 3TGTE.
Therefore i assume the flywheel is the same.
Hope this has answered at least one of your questions, i only skim read the thread.
gen 1 and maybe gen 2 - 1G engine and 3TGTE / 4TGTE share same flywheel , and have *about* 220 mm clutch
3t/ 2tg / 2t /13t ..........have 190 / 200 mm clutch ( bought can bolt to each other )
latest 2T flywheel . about after half year -82 / early G engines . share same steel frame where start to machine , so they are same but have different clutch diam, and different pressureplate bolt pattern
earlyer 2tc flys are different more weight etc .... i have seen about 10 different T engine flywheelsome pictures are posted somewhere in 3tc forum

1ggte and 3tgte flywheels are the same,....(gen 1 and gen 2 1ggte's) ONLY the smaller of the 2 1g flywheels, gen 3 is bigger,
measured up a 3tgte unit at esteban's place - 225mm clutch face. 4agze clutch disk was 200mm, and a 1ggze was ~235mmm.
im using a $200 PBR heavy duty full face.
cant complain, it takes the abuse of 16psi.
hello
one last query:
if you've put a 3tgte flywheel on a 1GGTE, did you have to buy a 3T-specific pressure plate or clutch, or does it have the same bolt pattern as the smaller 1G (225mm) flywheel?
brett: don't suppose you know what gen flywheel you have? and that was for the whole kit of just the clutch?
fwiw: a 7M clutch seems to have the same wear area as the larger (235mm) 1G flywheel, but the accompanying pressure plate has wrong bolt pattern (has slightly PCD)
3tgte fly and clucth are the same than 1G ~225mm . all specs and boltpatterns are same
3tc / 2tc have 2 different pattern (190 - 200 mm clutch) and they dont fit 3tgte / 1g fly
EDIT : 235mm 1G have different bolt pattern in a clutch but maybe the crank bolt pattern are different tonot sure

am half sure the bolt pattern on the end of the crankshaft is the same.
