Yeah, it's IE7's interpretation of background page loading.
The other thing you can do is have an 'initial' tab as a pawn. Just something you leave open. Then open your index in tab 2, and threads in tabs from there onwards.
When imageshack loads, it'll stick it's ad in your dummy tab and you can ignore it hehehe
