stupid question out of curiosity.. 2s -twincam?

just a random question..

i in the past noticed that a 3sfe or 5sfe twin cam head had the same mounting holes and possibly water cooling holes as a 2s single cam head..

out of curiosity is it possible to fit one of these to say a 2s corona motor?

i doubt it would benefit in anyway but just wondering..

anyone know?
if it was to fit what else would need to me modded?

i could be wrong, it was a while ago now..

It could probably be done but you wouldn't gain anything over a full 3S swap. Keeping the 2S block won't make the swap any easier since you can easily put the 2S sump and engine mounts on the 3S block. Either way you'd still be stuck with the manifolds and distributor pointing in wrong directions, which is the real difficulty with such a conversion.

damn, im looking for a corona wagon at the moment and wanted something different to do with it and simple.. doesnt have to be that powerfull..

so i thought sticking to the same series motor may be easier..

there are no other s series that will fit in?

I think Sam (sam-131) has a fair idea about this gear. From memory he said the 2S had a longer stroke and smaller bore than the 3s. So you could use the 2S bottom end, bore to 3S bore size and whack on a 3SG head and have a 2.2litre engine. Basically like a 5SGE. Whether it is all worth it is an entirely different question.

im just thinking if it wont be that more costly it would be interesting to try.
just dont know about about the pulleys/belts and valve clearance from pistons..

and im bored and just thouht it would be interesting to know if its possible..
