Thanks Roscos They are the 60mm tubes. I'll take your advice so I can keep them on! The manifold will be match ported to the head.

    Cheers,
    Ren.

Quick update on cam specs. Taken from the spec sheet from Ivan Tighe cams.

    Intake: 243@50, 412 lift
    Exhaust: 242@50, 411 lift

    UPDATE 11-10-07

Some engine parts back from the machine shop, awaiting assembly.

NGK Spark Leads arrived. Chose to replace the Top Guns due to the right-angle boot, although they aren't quite as thick as the Top Guns which were 8.8mm. These look like they're around 7-8mm but I'm sure they'll be up to the task. IMO the construction quality looks much better than the Top Gun's. Here's a pic:

    Hi guys,

Well, the engine's finished and I'm running it in! Will take more photos and upload some youtube videos in the near future so keep posted... Oh, and I'm so glad I went with Webers - the induction roar is absolutely out of this world!

congratulationsand well done on your build. I've been watching this for a while now and the finished product looks fantastic.
Tis' true what you say "the induction roar is absolutely out of this world!" I too have finished my 2T-G 1750cc build with 45mm DCOE 13/152 Webers.
Also just wondering what amount of fuel pressure do those Webers like? i was told 3.5psi give or take.

That motor is looking good, and there is plenty of room between the webers and the brake booster. Might have to make another bracket for the accerator cable to neaten it up. Mind is bolted off the bottom bolts of the ram tubes so you cannot see it and the cable comes up from underneath.

    Thanks Guys.

Yes Scott it was worth the wait! Fonz, your project sounds real nice. Got any pics?

The engine has nothing under 4,000, and although I am running it in, I can tell all hell is going to break loose once I open her up! Best thing is, although it has a very lumpy idle it is incredibly drivable (almost as much as the stock 18R-GEU actually). She runs cool, cold starts like a dream, idles beautifully and the responsiveness even at low RPM is comparable to EFI - all with 38mm chokes. Fuel economy seems to be quite decent too.

So there. To all the 18R-G nuts out there who said I couldn't have my cake and eat it too, I rest my case
