Meh, its a company car, why should he care...
Mind you, explaining to the boss where the motor out of said car when teh Dong doesn't turn upto work could be interesting.

The Kluger's almost high enough that you could drop the engine out without jacking it up

Yah, misprint/error it is. Two piece pan, which makes it a PITA for me.

    Nice ninja edit Glen.

Nah, availability isn't the problem but thankyou .
I was hoping to drop the 1MZ into a MkII or Crown - they both have mid sump arrangements. Now the 3VZ has a front sump but because it so short and has a nice tin sump, it fits exactly where the M series mid sump fits (with a bit of mallet relief) - ie NO sump mods.
1MZ two part sump sticks out way more at the front therefore needs mods for my app. I was hoping to avoid this .

Yah, I will. Only issue is BHG but I have VRS kit so I figure I'll just use it.

MZ would have been an interesting project. The adaptor ring works with the MZ (bolt holes identical) and there is a nice spot where the block can be "milled" to take a 3VZE starter. It would only involve rerouting the EGR pipes (no biggie). Just had to check the offset for the ring gear on a 3VZE. Anyway, very doable and would make a great donk for a little Celica/Corona.

    1MZ officially abandoned.

I originally got myself all excited about the idea of putting a 3MZ into my Corolla. Then I, well, kind of wrote the Corolla off...
