search mate, it has been done to death
I was talking to the guys from SSS Automotive and was told that the GA70 LSD center gears are a straight swap into the hilux housings?
Is this so? Anyone tried? Anyone got one of each and want to try?
How many spline are the GA70 diffs? Are the *A70 diff centers interchangeable?
This could become an easy way to get our hands on LSD centers for our hilux diffs, what ever they may be in.
Cheers,
Jase

straight swap ... most of the time.
just depends on wether it was a 4wd centre and what the gearing was originally.
bearing may be needed to suit hilux and supra variations .. and maybe spacers for the crown wheel.
cheers

Road Runner,
The guy i spoke to actualy refered you directly to do my diff. But as my diff has mounts done , i dont cant use your expertise, in that aspect atleast. Though you are the guy to talk to about this stuff...
I remember some time ago that the diffs start at 3.7 then change at 3.9... Do i have to look out for this when chasing a *A70 center?
Which car should i be chasing if i want a 3.9 or there abouts?
Ive searched the forum and have been unsuccesful. If you can find something please do link me! I'd truely appreciate it.
Anyway,
Cheers,
Jase
ive done ma70 turbo auto centre (3:7) into my hilux housing, and it is NOT a straight swap, even though both are g series the centre from the ma70 has bigger bearings, i got a diff shop (diff technics kograh) to pull both down and put back together in the hilux housing. cost me $400 plus $125 for the centre and i sold the old 4:3 lsd for $200 so not too bad over all. however it still doesnt drop the rpms enough on the highway (2700@100kmh) using a w57 behing a 1uz.
hope some of this helps
ps i think there is a 3:5 ration in some hiaces however they are rare and only come with an open centre.
