hello
Good work mate! Loving the 2JZness
got the new radiator fan and shroud.
its all mounted now. its a MX73 radiator with a JZA70/JZX81 shroud and hydro fan. i painted a blade black so i can see how fast its spinning
pics of it in the car. im suprised at how much space there is in this engine bay. ive measured it and its actually significantly bigger then a MX83 engine bay .
ive also got the tacho and speedo working. with the speedo, i ended up using a 5ME igniter module with resistor. .
ive dropped off the tailshaft today to be made up. ETA for first drive is the end of this week.
hello
McPherson strut = lots of engine bay space. I've compared three generations of Supras and my MA61 has the most space!

out of curiosity i just measured my MZ12 and MA61 engine bay
from the firewall to the radiator support panel, the soarer is 30mm longer overall then the supra
hello
so......the speedo.
with a bit of mucking around ive come up with something that drives the factory digital speedo. ive made up a bench simulator for the speedo sensor which uses a MX83 toothed wheel (20 teeth?) and pickup connected to a 12v dc motor.
its probably out by about 5-10 times. can anyone confirm the number of teeth on the aristo toothed wheel in the rear housing of the gearbox?
ill need to get hold of a jaycar speedo adjuster. at least its reading too high anyway, it will be easy (and more accurate) to remove 4/5 pulses rather then adding some in.
ive still got to transfer the bench model onto the aristo sensor and confirm it will work the same. hopefully no issues there
here is my circuit

enough talk of GT35s unless your selling me one cheap.
tailshaft is done, $300 later. yet to test fit.
intercooler has arrived and is yet to get the matt black coat of paint.
hope to have it all up and running this weekend
hello
i bought a de-bling kit from supercheap, ie a $3 can of matt black.
results:
hello
De-bling can definitely be a good thing... unless you are talking about the chrome on a classic celica

it drives!
and does skids effortlessly
didnt take too long, 5-6week 2JZ conversion
still needs: air filter, exhaust connected.
it seems the gearbox is hitting the trans tunnel though
hello
footage of said skiddz would be nice

Sweet! Good work on the skidz yo.
Nice looking tailshaft too. I hope i can get mine done for that price.

i dont think stage 2 of the sequential system is coming on.
the exhaust valve opens but there is no serious kick in the pants. probably just that solenoid controlling the pressure side. its going to be scarey when it does
its probably good in a way as i havent upgraded the fuel pump yet and the factory one is probably only good for 220hp
hello
