The first 1 or 2 series of the DC water pumps had issues with them leaking around the bushings. I bought one of the series 1 pumps (probably 7+ years ago maybe) for my 13BT conversion and only got around to installing it about 2 years ago, and the first time i cranked it up it leaked like a sieve. I rang DC directly and they said "yeah the old ones are shit, send it back and we will send you a new one" so i did that and its perfect now, never missed a beat and i just run it always on with ignition, but thermo controlled by the MoTeC.

heres the offical website for the proform one

    http://www.proformparts.com/mistore/...display_mode=4

I think I will give it a go, I was thinking of going for the davies craig but damn they are ugly and bulky. I would of had to go for an external thermostat also with the way I wanted to set it up

Well the alternator is fairly low down on the intake side, so i was thinking about running this higher up on the exhaust side, should be pretty ok there.

Ive also wondered about using the DC EWP inline with the bottom rad hose (as you have done) without the thermostat of course, but the problem there is that i dont particularly want to run the controller and i think it might run too cold.

Like I said (possibly on another forum), the controller works perfectly for me.

Yeah, its more that its just one more thing to fail. Which worries me, especially with my atrocious failure rates.

Because low on the intake side it doesnt interfere with anything Sam, plus its already mounted up.

TooF: would be running on this:

ah ha so close enough to what ill be running

just thinking on how i would fit it. since you have the alternator low on the inlet side already not high like factory, why not mount the electric motor up near where you would normally mount the alternator

i cant quite make it out on your pic but is that piece just near the oil dipstick that looks like the head of a hockey stick, is that a plate that your using to extend the factory style pivot for tensioning the belt ? if so why no mount the electric motor onto that ?

other then the oil dipstick there isnt much down that direction you need to get toregularly and im sure you could fabricate it up in a manner that wouldnt interfere with the dipstick.

Its more a necessity for the airbox and quads.
In the future ill be increasing the size of the airbox as well, so there really is jack all room there.
Ill take more detailed photos at a later point.

Is there room between the engine and radiator to fit the pump backwards so it points out the front?

The motor for the pump you mean? Or another pump?

Because i think there would be just enough room in there to fit the motor backwards.

I was just thinking that if you mounted the pump motor backwards, that makes the packaging issue a little eaasier.
